Corporate Communication & Teleconferencing with Nextcloud Talk
Learn how to use Nextcloud Talk for secure chats, video calls, and presentations with your team or clients.
Nextcloud Talk turns your cloud into a comprehensive corporate communications hub. Instead of using multiple external apps, you can chat with your colleagues, schedule meetings, and give presentations to clients within a fully secure environment, with no time limits on your calls.
Create a Chat or Group
To start a conversation with one or more people:
- Log in to Nextcloud and click the icon Talk (Conversation) (the speech bubble icon on the top navigation bar).
- In the left column, click the button “+” next to the search field to start a new conversation.
- Create a Group conversation, give it a name (e.g.,. “Project Marketing”) and press Next.
- Type the names of the coworkers you want to add and click Create a conversation. Now you can exchange messages, emojis, and files!

Invitation to External Visitors (Clients)
Not everyone needs to have a Nextcloud account to join a meeting. You can easily invite external collaborators:
- When you create the chat (or later through its settings), check the box Allow guests via link.
- In the right-hand settings column of the conversation, locate the section Call Link and click the icon Copy link.
- Send this link to your client via email or chat. As soon as they click on it, they'll join the meeting directly through their browser—no registration or installation required!
Don't miss any important calls when you're out of the office. Search for it Nextcloud Talk on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and install it on your smartphone. Log in using your Cloud URL and your login credentials. You’ll receive instant notifications (push notifications) for messages and calls, working just like Viber or WhatsApp, but with complete corporate privacy!
The most common reason a user cannot be heard or seen during a call is that their browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) has blocked access to the hardware. The first time you click “Start call,” your browser will display a pop-up window in the upper-left corner. You must click the Allow, otherwise your camera and microphone will remain turned off.

Do you want uninterrupted calls for dozens of simultaneous users?;
Nextcloud Talk's default technology (peer-to-peer) is ideal for small group conversations. However, when a business organizes large meetings, webinars, or presentations with more than 4–5 participants, the call puts a strain on your office’s Internet connection. At Skynetix, we offer **Nextcloud Talk Optimization** services. We install and configure a specialized **High-Performance Signaling Server (HPB / TURN Server)**. This upgrade centrally manages all video stream traffic, ensuring crystal-clear audio, HD video, and absolute stability—even when dozens of people are participating in the same call at the same time!
