How to edit text, titles, and phone numbers with Elementor

Learn how to quickly and easily edit the content on your pages using Elementor's visual editor.

Elementor is a visual page builder, which means you can see the changes you make in real time, exactly as they will appear to your visitors. Changing a title, some text, or a contact phone number takes just a few clicks.

1

Accessing the Editing Environment

There are two ways to open a page with Elementor:

  1. From the Management Report: Go to Pages, find the page you want (e.g.,. Home) and click on Edit with Elementor.
  2. From the Front Page: While logged in as an administrator, browse your site as usual. On the page you want to edit, click the option Editing with Elementor that appears in the black bar at the top of the screen.

Selecting and Changing Content

Once Elementor loads, you'll see your site on the right and a column of tools on the left.

  1. Hover your mouse over the text, title, or phone number you want to change. A light blue box will appear around it.
  2. Click click above the text.
  3. In the left panel, on the tab Content, the text will appear in an input box.
  4. Delete the old content and type in your new text or phone number.
💡 Smart Tip: ALWAYS type in the left panel

Although Elementor lets you click and type directly on the page (inline editing), this method sometimes accidentally inserts hidden formatting code or causes glitches. Do you prefer always Select the widget and delete or enter text in the blank box on the **left sidebar**.

Storage and Publication

The changes you make won't automatically appear to site visitors until you save them:

  1. Once you've finished making the corrections, locate the green button Update at the bottom left of your screen.
  2. Click the button. Once the button turns gray, your changes have been successfully published.
  3. You can click the «eye» icon (Preview Changes) next to the button to view a live preview of your page.
⚠️ Be careful when copying and pasting text

If you copy text from Microsoft Word, Messenger, or another website and paste it directly (Ctrl+V) into Elementor’s Text Editor, the fonts, sizes, and colors from the source, which will alter your site’s design. Solution: Paste using the combination Ctrl + Shift + V (or right-click -> Paste as Plain Text) to remove any formatting.
