How to Export Sales Statistics (WooCommerce Analytics)
Learn how to analyze your e-shop's revenue, filter sales by date, and export reports to CSV files.
Data-driven decision-making is key to the growth of any online store. WooCommerce includes a powerful built-in analytics platform that lets you view your net revenue, the number of orders, the best-selling products, and download all of this data to your computer with just a few clicks.
Navigating Analytics and Selecting a Report
Log in to WordPress and select the Statistics menu from the left-hand sidebar:
- Go to Statistics (Analytics) -> Revenue for an overview of your finances, or at Products If you want to see which codes sell the most.
- At the top of the page, you'll find the date filter. Click on it and select the time period you're interested in (e.g.,. “This Month”, “Last year” or select one “Custom” range).
- Click Update to refresh the charts and tables.

Understanding the Data (Reference Table)
If you scroll down below the charts, you'll find a detailed table. To ensure your analysis is accurate, it's important to understand what you're looking at:
- Gross Sales: The total amount of the orders, including shipping and taxes.
- Returns: The amount returned through refunds (automatically deducted from revenue).
- Coupons: The value of the discounts provided through coupons.
- Net Sales: Your actual revenue from product sales, after deducting returns and discounts.
By default, WooCommerce counts all orders toward revenue except for “Canceled” and “Failed” orders. If you want your statistics to be 100% accurate and not include pending orders, use the filter “Advanced Filters” and select to display only orders with the status “Completed” and “In Progress” (Processing).

Download the File (Export)
Once you've applied your filters and the table shows exactly the data you need, you can export it as follows:
- At the top right of the data table (not the chart), locate the button that says Downloads ή Export.
- WooCommerce will create a file in the format CSV and it will automatically start downloading to your computer.
- You can open this file with the Microsoft Excel, the Google Sheets or forward it as is to your accountant for filing the tax returns.
WooCommerce CSV files are encoded in UTF-8. If you open them directly in Excel and see strange symbols instead of Greek characters, don't worry. Open a blank Excel file, go to the tab Data -> From Text/CSV, select the file and set the File Origin to 65001: Unicode (UTF-8). Your data will appear instantly and crystal clear!
