How to Create AI Avatars & Presenters for TikTok & Reels
Do you want to enter the world of short-form videos but don’t want to appear on camera? Learn how to create digital presenters who speak fluent Greek.
TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts are the undisputed kings of organic reach. However, many businesses are left out because they don’t have the time, the right equipment, or someone who feels comfortable in front of the camera. The solution goes by the name of AI Avatars: Digital presenters with completely lifelike movements and voices, ready to say whatever you write for them in just a few minutes.
Platform Selection & Creation of a 9:16 Layout
There are some excellent tools on the market, the best of which is the HeyGen, the Synthesia and the D-ID. To get started, log in to the platform of your choice (HeyGen is recommended for short-form content because of its library) and select "Create a New Video.".
Before selecting your presenter, make sure you've changed the project's aspect ratio from Landscape (16:9) to Portrait (9:16). If you forget this, the presenter will appear too far away, and if you crop the image afterward, the facial resolution will drop dramatically, giving away that it’s AI.

Avatar Selection & Natural Greek Voice
Browse the Avatars library and choose the character that fits your brand (e.g., casual attire for TikTok, a more formal business look for B2B services). Next, go to the Voice settings:
- Language Filter: Select Greek (Greece). AI models now feature excellent Greek voices (such as “Athina” or “Nestor”) that have correct intonation and a natural rhythm.
- A Trick for Perfect Lip-Sync: When writing the script in Greek, avoid very long, unbroken words without punctuation. Use frequently periods (.) and commas (,). This causes the AI Avatar to take short, natural pauses to “catch its breath,” making the lip-sync look 100% real.
Enhanced with B-Roll, Green Screen, and 💥 Hooks
A video that simply shows a talk-head robot speaking will fail on TikTok. Users need visual stimuli every 2–3 seconds to keep them from scrolling away:

If the AI video is completely static, the user subconsciously feels a sense of “uncanniness” (the uncanny valley) when seeing a face that looks real but doesn’t move naturally. To overcome this, Zoom in and zoom out on the Avatar every time the sentence changes, or add sound effects (swoosh, pops). Also, if the AI platform provides you with pre-made background music, don’t use it—it’s better to add trending tracks directly from TikTok or Instagram itself to boost your views!
