Guide to Creating a Campaign in TikTok Ads Manager

Learn how to set up your advertising account correctly outside the app, choose your audience, and create native videos that go viral and drive sales.

The TikTok It is currently the platform with the greatest organic reach and a rapidly growing advertising market. However, creating a professional campaign comes with a significant pitfall: It can't be done properly on your cell phone. An external process is required to create a special business account.

1

Create an External Account (TikTok Ads Manager)

To run ads that target sales, leads, or downloads, the basic profile you have on your phone isn't enough. You need to create a separate business account from your computer:

The Process: Visit the page ads.tiktok.com from your desktop. Click on Get Started and enter your company information (Tax ID, Address, Company Name). This account is called TikTok Ads Manager and, although it is linked to your channel, it operates in a completely separate management environment.

Selecting a Campaign Goal & Budget

In your new desktop environment, click Create an Ad and select the function Custom Mode (not the Simplified version, so you have full control).

  • Objective: Select Website Conversions if you want to generate sales on your e-shop, or Video Views if your goal is to make people aware of your brand.
  • Budget Limit: TikTok has a minimum spend limit of 50€ per day at the campaign level (or 20€ at the ad group level). Make sure you’ve calculated your monthly budget correctly.
3

Audience Targeting & TikTok Pixel

TikTok's algorithm is extremely smart—as long as you feed it the right data:

Setting Up TikTok Pixel: Before you start targeting, you need to connect your e-shop to the TikTok Pixel (via the Tools > Events settings). This allows the system to «see» who is making purchases and optimize the ad.
Behavioral Targeting: In addition to age and location (Greece), you can target users who have performed specific actions, such as. «those who watched a Tech/Fashion video all the way through in the last 7 days».

Creative: “Don’t Make Ads. Make TikToks”

The platform’s golden rule is not to create corporate, “staged” ads, but rather videos that look like organic user-generated content (UGC):

  • Spark Ads: Instead of uploading a new video from your PC, you can use an existing video from your profile by entering an authorization code. This is the most effective advertising method.
  • Sound & Music: Use only pieces from the Commercial Audio Library on TikTok. If you add a random song without commercial rights, the ad will be rejected immediately.
⚠️ The Importance of the First 2 Seconds

TikTok users scroll at an incredible speed. If your video starts with a boring logo or a slow intro, it will be skipped immediately. You need to include the “hook” (the most striking element or key question). in the first 2 seconds of the video, or else you'll waste your budget on zero watch time.
